SURFING STRENGTH PROGRAM
Our surfing strength program is designed to improve athleticism that transfers to the water, targeting physical qualities relevant to surfing; strength, power, energy system development, mobility and injury resilience.
Designed and coached by Motus Health and Performance Physiotherapists, Exercise Physiologists and certified strength and conditioning coaches.
Whether you’re a weekend warrior or winning board riders, our Surf Program will help you to surf better for longer.
Come and train in a group setting with other surfers and start to reach your full surfing potential whilst creating longevity in the water.

Whether you're trying to get better at local board rider competitions, a weekend warrior, long-boarder or competitive surfer this program is designed for you.
You don’t need to be a professional to join, you just need the drive to better yourself and your surfing. The Surfing Strength Program will build injury resilience in key areas, optimise your physical preparation and improve your surfing performance.
HOW IT WORKS
These sessions are run in our conditioning space in the main gym. Your membership also gives you access to Reformer Pilates, Group Classes and the free weights area.
Tuesday: 5:30pm & 6:30pm

SAM CHURCH - DOCTOR OF PHYSIOTHERAPY (DPT) & ASCA STRENGTH & CONDITIONING COACH
Sam is a Physiotherapist/Strength and Conditioning Coach involved in athletic performance and rehab. Sam is a keen surfer and has a passion for training all surfers.

TRAIN LIKE A SURFER
There's a misconception that surf training is just mobility, this is part of it, but if you want to start throwing buckets and developing power and style strength training is crucial.
Surfing is the priority. Our classes are scheduled after surf hours as best as possible. If the surf is cooking and you've spent hours in the water, programming is modified to match what the waves are doing
and how often our athletes have been surfing. If you're super drilled you can also jump into a Yin or Flow Yoga class.
Yep! Sam will be at each session to coach you through your program in the group setting.
Go for it. Your Chocolate Box Training Surf Membership gives you access to book any class on the timetable.
All members will be debited weekly. This is an automatic payment.
We can organise a thorough physiotherapy assessment
with Sam before your first/next gym session to see how the program can be modified to match your current ability/rehab restrictions. Health funds accepted for this. There’s always a way to train!
